Hi, my name is Shalonda. I'm a therapist, but, first and foremost, I'm a mother of three.

In 2004, I graduated from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies. In 2017, I earned a Master of Science at Capella University, which is accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

I enjoy working with teenagers and helping them navigate through their changes and engage with their families. My therapeutic approaches are:

  • Person-Centered

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Mindfulness

  • Christian Counseling

Shawdyah Fuselier is a Licensed professional counselor and new to Relax and Talk. Shawdyah received a dual bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She then proceeds to receive her master’s degree in professional counseling at Grand Canyon University in 2018. Shawdyah has worked in various diverse mental health settings such as substance abuse rehabilitation/short-term inpatient, adolescent long-term facility, MHR/outpatient program, and individual and group settings. Within those settings, she has received administrative positions including clinical supervisor and educational director. A focus in her work has been anxiety and depression management, helping client develop healthy coping skills and relaxation techniques, building self-identity and self-confidence, taking steps to recovery, and healing from traumatic events. Modalities that Shawdyah often utilizes include CBT, Solution-focus, Recovery dynamics, mindfulness, trauma-focus, DBT, and psychoeducation. Shawdyah believes that therapy is the process of rediscovering self, clarity, purpose, and joy; and her hope is to provide a safe place to help guide you through life adversities while creating a better quality of life. When she is not helping others, she loves spending time with family and friends, taking trips, reading, and online shopping
